Kaiser’s Room
KAISER’S ROOM
Pronouns: He/Him
Kaiser’s Room, founded by Stephane Duret, is a NYC-based non-profit organization that offers arts programming to individuals with cognitive and developmental disabilities. The organization provides intimate classes such as dance, acting, and musical theatre, as well as devised interactive, multi-sensory theatrical experiences.
Stephane Duret is a performer by trade, last seen in the Broadway production of Kinky Boots. One of his first professional acting jobs out of school was as Scout, the boy scout in Chicago Children's Theatre's RED KITE: ROUND UP! A multi-sensory interactive show where 8 actors took a maximum of 10 Autistic kids on an imaginary camping trip using puppets, projections, and music to create a truly immersive experience. Upon arriving in NYC he worked as a "playroom friend" in a little boys parent-run Son-Rise program, and together the experiences inspired Stephane to launch Kaiser's Room, a safe space where people on the spectrum can explore their self-expression through the performing arts.
