About Hey Famm

LGBTQ+ professionals face a fundamental challenge in today's professional landscape: there's no platform designed for them to authentically network within their community and support queer-owned businesses. While 45% of professionals feel they need to hide their identity at work, and 100% of major social media platforms received failing scores on LGBTQ+ safety, the community's $3.9 trillion purchasing power remains fragmented across generic platforms that weren't built with their unique needs in mind. This disconnect costs the economy $64 billion annually in lost talent and disengagement, while LGBTQ+ professionals miss out on meaningful career opportunities and business connections within their own community.

So what exactly is Hey Famm?

Hey Famm is the first social networking app and business directory built specifically for LGBTQ+ professionals and business owners. Unlike generic professional platforms, we've designed every feature with the LGBTQ+ community in mind, from identity-first profiles that celebrate authenticity, to our growing directory of 1,600+ queer-owned businesses, to robust safety measures including community verification and zero tolerance policies for hate or any position compromising the safety of our community. Our mobile app (available on iOS and Android, with hundreds of 5-star ratings) features Smart Connections based on shared industries and locations, powerful search filtering including what people are open to, an events directory, business directory, messaging, a community feed, premium business subscriptions that help queer entrepreneurs thrive, and more!

Our web platform launched in September 2025, expanding access and creating an even more comprehensive ecosystem where being out actually accelerates your career and business growth.

About the Founders

Cat Perez (she/they) and Marianna Di Regolo (she/her), a queer married couple from Northern California, founded Hey Famm. They have over 25 years of experience in entrepreneurship, marketing, tech, product, and design. They have also launched initiatives for the LGBTQ+ community in the past decade, including a photo series featuring Lesbians in San Francisco, a meet-up for LGBTQ+ folks in Web3, and more.

The inspiration for Hey Famm came from their personal desire to support queers in work and business, which evolved into building the professional infrastructure the LGBTQ+ community has been waiting for.

Our Values

  • While queerness connects us, our experiences are not the same. Race, gender, ability, class, and culture shape the way we move through the world and the challenges we face.

Belonging means recognizing those differences, not flattening them. It means doing the work to understand, to grow, and to show up for each other and with each other.

We’re committed to learning and doing better, always. And we expect the same from our community.

We have zero tolerance for hate or for anything that compromises safety, dignity, or trust.

  • We’re living in a moment that demands more than awareness— it requires action. Across the world, anti-LGBTQIA+ legislation is rising, and the systems meant to protect us are failing. Waiting is not an option.

Change begins with what we choose to do today, no matter how small. Shop from a queer-owned business. Show up at that community event. Call your representative. Share that queer story. Build something that solves a problem you have.

Action is how we resist. Action is how we survive. Action is how we win.

  • In a world that often feels like it’s burning, literally and figuratively, it’s easy to lose sight of what we still have. We move fast. We carry a lot. We brace against waves of injustice, fear, and exhaustion.

But even in the thick of it, there is always something to hold onto.

Gratitude is our grounding. It reminds us of our growth, our resilience, and the power of community, which always brings us back to what matters: the people who see and support us and the small joys that carry us forward. .

  • Community isn’t just who we gather with, it’s how we show up for one another. It’s built through care, accountability, and a shared belief that none of us are free until all of us are.

At Hey Famm, community means queer joy, chosen family, allies who speak up, and the quiet everyday acts of support that hold us together. It means giving what we can, amplifying who we can, and choosing collaboration over competition every time.

We’re not just in this together. We rise together.

  • Safety isn’t an afterthought; it’s what we lead with because we’ve had to live our lives this way. And it starts with boundaries.

At Hey Famm, we treat safety, physical, emotional, and psychological, as a collective priority. That means listening, learning, and doing the work to protect each other and ourselves. It means honoring differences, while also drawing clear lines when harm enters the room.

Boundaries are not divisions; they are protection. And protection is love in action.

  • Growth isn’t a destination; it’s a daily practice. It asks for honesty, self-awareness, and the courage to keep showing up even when we get it wrong.

At Hey Famm, we believe growth means learning out loud. It means listening when we’re called in, holding ourselves accountable, and choosing curiosity over ego. We grow not just for ourselves, but for our communities because when we evolve, so does our impact.

We’re not here to be perfect. We’re here to be better.
