Famm is on a mission to showcase LGBTQ+ owned brands, products and services all in one place.

OUR MISSION

About Famm

As a marginalized group, the LGBTQ+ community faces significant barriers, including limited access to financial resources, higher rates of poverty, and discrimination in and outside of the workplace. Did you know that less than a percent of US businesses are LGBTQ owned? We believe that we can bring more visibility and support to these businesses, which may inspire the next generation of LGBTQ+ founders. More LGBTQ+ folks with a seat at the table could lead to more opportunities to drive positive change for our community. That’s why at Famm, our goal is to:

  • Drive as much business as possible to LGBTQ+ founders

  • Showcase products & services that are designed through an authentic and inclusive lens

  • Share the stories and learnings of these founders to help inspire current and future LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs

  • Connect LGBTQ+ professionals across any / all industries

So what exactly is Famm? We are a website where you can easily discover LGBTQ+-owned e-commerce brands, products, and (mostly) virtual services in one place. We get to know these brands and founders personally, write all the bios and create visual profiles so you can quickly get a feel for the brand/service provider.

About the Founders

Cat Perez (she/they) and Marianna Di Regolo (she/her), a queer married couple from Northern California, founded Famm. They have over 20 years of experience in entrepreneurship, marketing, tech, product, and design. They have also launched initiatives for the LGBTQ+ community in the past decade, including a photo series featuring Lesbians in San Francisco, a meet-up for LGBTQ+ folks in Web3, and more.

Cat and Marianna have struggled to find products and services designed with their unique experiences, identities, and needs in mind. But over the last few years, they started learning about more LGBTQ+ owned businesses from friends, in blog posts during Pride month, or on social media. The problem was that hearing about a new brand every 3-6 months wouldn’t cut it. They also struggled with the existing resources to find these businesses, like missing and inconsistent information and a sub-optimal user experience that can be overwhelming. Cat and Marianna wanted to figure out an easy way to discover and support LGBTQ+ founders and business owners, which ultimately inspired them to create Famm.

They have taken their passion for entrepreneurship and love for their community to create a platform that promotes LGBTQ+ brands and businesses, helping them gain visibility and expand their reach & impact.

Our Values

  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) serve as the foundational pillars needed to foster a sense of belonging. They encompass the freedom to be your genuine self and experience a supportive environment where your identity is respected and celebrated. It goes beyond mere representation. It involves cultivating trust, empowering individuals with agency, and consistently operating from a space of self-awareness. To truly embody DEI principles, we strive to continuously grow, actively learn, and take meaningful action instead of engaging in performative gestures. Our commitment to DEI is rooted in creating an inclusive culture where everyone feels valued and embraced for who they are.

  • To us, taking action is paramount. That means pushing past the fear of failure and the pursuit of perfection, and instead, honing in on the actionable steps we can take today to ignite transformation. It includes leveraging our power, abilities, and agency to the fullest extent in the present moment, recognizing that this opportunity may never come again. We prioritize seizing the here and now, understanding that meaningful change begins with taking purposeful action.

  • We make it a priority to acknowledge and appreciate what we possess, both material and immaterial. By taking moments for reflection, we can recognize and celebrate our personal growth and the progress we've achieved as a community. This helps us to appreciate our journey and the milestones we have reached, fostering a deep sense of gratitude for the abundance and growth we have experienced.

  • To us, the word community means a group of people who share similar values and support one another. In the context of Famm, this encompasses our LGBTQ+ friends, family members, supporters, community, and allies. We aim to be actively engaged which includes speaking up, speaking out, giving back, and sharing what we can to empower the LGBTQ+ community. We firmly believe in constantly uplifting each other, as there is a wealth of opportunity for all of us to make massive impact. Community over competition!

  • This entails establishing and upholding respectful and compassionate ways of coexisting both in our professional lives and in the broader world, with the aim of fostering safety and well-being, both physically and psychologically. It's important to acknowledge that life is not purely binary. Each individual has the freedom to embrace their own unique set of values. The key lies in actively listening to one another and communicating our personal boundaries and preferences, so that we can collectively create an environment where everyone feels comfortable and respected.

  • We strongly believe in the value of lifelong learning. As individuals, we are dedicated to continually stretching ourselves and growing. Our commitment to self-improvement extends not only to benefit ourselves but also our families and community. The path of growth requires self-awareness, honesty, and a deliberate intention to better ourselves. It means acknowledging our missteps and failures, and embracing the invaluable lessons they offer. By learning from these experiences, we equip ourselves to do even better in the future. We are driven by the belief that personal growth is a never-ending journey, empowering us to constantly evolve and make a positive impact.
