Education empowers individuals to make cultural change. ALK Consulting offers LGBTQIA+ workshops, advising services, and grant writing for organizations committed to authentic inclusion for staff, members, visitors, donors, and community partners of all genders and sexualities. We prioritize compassionate curiosity to develop effective allies that value the diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Ali Kane is a Queer nonprofit leader and lifelong learner committed to inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility, bringing over 10 years of experience working with the LGBTQIA+ community with a specialization supporting cultural institutions. She also furthers health equity as Grants Management Specialist at Family Health Center of Worcester, and serves as Treasurer of Love Your Labels and Trans Visibility of Central Massachusetts. They hold a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania, and Diversity & Inclusion Champion Certificate from Bentley University. Aside from educating and community-building, Ali enjoys playing board games and supporting local drag with her partner and cats in Worcester, MA.

 

VIRTUAL OR IN-PERSON SERVICES

  • Description: A 75-minute introduction to gender and sexuality theory, inclusive language, trans/non-conforming identities, and effective allyship.

    Access: Virtual or in-person. Based in Central Massachusetts, in-person engagements are considered nation-wide with a travel fee.

    Price: $750-$1,600

  • Description: A half-day workshop that empowers business leaders to be effective allies and create inclusive workplaces. Participants will examine the foundations of gender and sexuality, receive recommendations for creating inclusive workplaces, and develop the skills to become authentic allies for your LGBTQIA+ colleagues.

    This highly interactive learning opportunity includes several formats, including a lecture, breakout room discussion, a pre-session activity, and the development of personal allyship plans.

    Access: Virtual or in-person. Based in Central Massachusetts, in-person engagements considered nation-wide with a travel fee.

    Price: $1,000-$3,000

  • Description: A 90-minute workshop, empowering adults with the understanding of LGBTQIA+ identities and the specific ways to create affirming, supportive spaces for children of all ages who identify as LGBTQIA+.

    During this workshop, participants will review gender theory and statistics regarding LGBTQIA+ youth to provide foundational context for advice regarding talking to youth about gender and sexuality, and support youth who are LGBTQIA+.

    Access: Virtual or in-person. Based in Central Massachusetts, in-person engagements considered nation-wide with a travel fee

    Price: $750-$2,000
