GWK Academy Family Building, Inc., founded by Brian Rosenberg, is a nonprofit created to be the best starting point for LGBTQ+ people building families—and a trusted resource at any stage of the journey. The organization believes every LGBTQ+ person deserves the chance to turn their dreams of parenthood into reality. That’s why GWK Academy is completely free, offering access to expert education and a strong, supportive community. Whether someone is just beginning or deep into the process, GWK Academy helps them feel prepared, informed, and confident.
Its courses and resources are designed for every path to parenthood, from adoption to biological family-building. GWK Academy offers education, inspiration, surrogacy-related discounts, and community support—all at no cost. With heart and expertise, the organization is there to guide people through each step of their journey toward becoming a parent.

Free one-on-one coaching with experienced family-building experts
Mentorship connections with LGBTQ+ parents who’ve already been through the journey

Brian Rosenberg (he/him) is the founder of Gays With Kids and the executive director of this nonprofit spin-off, GWK Academy Family Building, Inc. (“GWK Academy”), the nation’s premier platform dedicated to inspiring the next generation of LGBTQ+ parents while empowering them to achieve their parenthood goals. Navigating HIV and homophobia in the 1980s sparked within him a passion for advocacy that started in the 1990s and has been a trademark of much of his adult life. Today he is the super proud dad of 3 kids he's raising with his husband and life partner of more than 30 years.
Brian and his husband, Ferd, became first-time dads in 2009, when resources for queer men pursuing parenthood were limited. Their journey—through both adoption and surrogacy—inspired the launch of Gays With Kids in 2014. With GWK Academy, Brian is expanding that mission to support the full LGBTQ+ community on their path to parenthood.
