HEY FAMM EVENTS CODE OF CONDUCT

Introduction

Our community thrives on connection, collaboration, and the ability to be unapologetically you. We ask all participants to adhere to this code of conduct to ensure a welcoming, safe, and productive environment. By joining our events (virtual or in person), you agree to foster an atmosphere of kindness, respect, and understanding.

These events are a learning and community-building space. Networking and sharing professional experiences should be done with the spirit of mutual growth and knowledge exchange. Read the room, respect the boundaries, and engage in consensual ways.

General Principles

  • Respect for All: Treat all participants with kindness and curiosity. This is a space for grace, openness, and support. 

  • Inclusivity: Strive to be inclusive in language and actions. Be mindful of our community’s diverse backgrounds and experiences.

  • Privacy: Respect each other's privacy. Do not record, share, or distribute any part of the virtual meetings.

  • Openness: Embrace differing viewpoints and remain open to learning from everyone.  

  • Mindfulness: Be mindful of your personal biases, the space you're taking up, and the energy you’re bringing to the table.  


Expected Behavior

  • Participate actively while being considerate of the time and contributions of others.

  • Use welcoming and inclusive language.

  • Display patience, empathy, and generosity towards other participants.

  • Offer help and guidance to new members who request it.

  • Be mindful of physical and emotional boundaries at all times.

  • Keep pathways clear, speak clearly during conversations or presentations, and consider different access needs.

  • We’re here to connect, uplift, and support one another—let’s co-create a space rooted in community care.


Prohibited Behavior

  • Harassment (including sexual), bullying, or discrimination will not be tolerated.  

  • Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, and personal attacks.

  • Public or private harassment.

  • Publishing or sharing others' private information. 

  • Intentional misgendering or deadnaming.

  • Intimidation, including attire that represents or implies hate, will not be tolerated.

  • Violence or violent language.


Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior

Participants asked to stop any prohibited behavior are expected to comply immediately. Participants who violate this code of conduct may be removed from the event and the Hey Famm platform.

Reporting

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact the event organizers immediately at support@heyfamm.com. All complaints will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly.


Conclusion

Our meetups aim to be a welcoming, inclusive space where people within the LGBTQ+ community who share our values can learn from and support one another. Participation signifies your agreement to make it a positive, safe, and respectful experience for all.
