Ality Richardson's journey to founding ALITY Designs grew from a simple frustration: she couldn't find clothes that fit her multifaceted lifestyle. As a San Diego native who seamlessly moves between business meetings and surfing sessions, Richardson constantly switched brands to match each aspect of her life. Drawing inspiration from the comfort of borrowing from her father's closet and her background as an athlete and outdoor enthusiast, she created the "in-between" – clothing that could keep up with every part of her day, from walking her dog Chocolate to meeting clients.
ALITY Designs embodies what Richardson calls "Low-key Luxury" – a California-made collection proving sustainability and style coexist beautifully. Every piece is crafted in small batches in Los Angeles, using premium USA-manufactured fabrics and paying careful attention to details like cozy thumbholes, sueded cotton-lined pockets, and even drawstrings made from production scraps to minimize waste. The gender-free collection breaks standard sizing norms, with Richardson herself serving as the medium fit model, creating pieces that focus on comfort and confidence rather than conventional categories.
